Braided rug with recycled textiles

It’s been a while since the last carpet and I somehow convinced myself to make another (bigger) one…

These braids have been hanging around my apartment for more months (years?) than I care to admit and it’s time to sew them together. As always, all materials are recycled – this one contains a number of bedsheets, an old sleeping bag liner, a pair of IKEA curtains and a couple of pairs of harem pants. About a third of the fabrics were originally white(ish), so I spruced those up with either indigo, osage, or onion skins.

The total of 213 braids in this one should give a finished dimension of around 6x6ft.
