March: Bird’s-eye view over Washington State

In 2021, I began embroidering one 4-inch hoop a month. This hoop is from March. I took this photo from a plane over Washington state, and chose it because of its effect of distance. I had recently learned how colours give the impression of growing bluer and less saturated as they fade into the distance and wanted to see if I could render the same depth in thread, without the ability to mix them like paint.
