After eight years of classical training, my violin and I took a turn toward the folk. Fortunate to find great mentors among folk and Irish musicians on the regional and national level, I began a freewheeling romp through a number of styles and musical groups. I compose folk-style tunes and often create my own soundscapes for circus performances. Strong in both sight-reading and playing by ear, I now call myself a fiddler and enjoy collaborating with a variety of musicians.
When Will came to Montreal for three months, we decided to see what we could make together during his stay. Here are four tracks that we plotted out in our living rooms and recorded in a friend’s basement. As our album title says, we consider this our beta test product.
